Dursley

Published by Pat Macleod on

The venue for the Dursley maprun course is Sainsbury’s car park. It’s best to park well up the main car park, away from the Start/Finish, to avoid inadvertent ‘starts’ before you are ready to go. As it’s the Sainsbury’s customer carpark you should pop in and buy something before or after your run.

The course starts and finishes at the bottom of the steps on the Northern edge of the car park, where the steps go up to the Knapp, and the playing field. Make sure you run through this point to start your route, and again back through it to stop the clock on your run.

View the course details and map below. These are all designed to be printed so you have the information to hand as you get on site, but the only thing you need to run the course is the map (and a phone!). We recommend you run with the course map and details sheet together back to back in a plastic wallet to keep them dry!

Thank-you very much for the excellent event last night. I really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t have done nearly half so well if I actually had to read the map rather than memorising a route earlier in the day, around an area I know pretty well…but I still had to plan it and run it so I got a kick out of it. Sadly I’m moving to Bedfordshire at the end of next week but I will look out for other MapRun courses.

One of your runners was asking about the narrow footpath off Dursley Road running parallel with Springfield. The entrance is very, VERY well concealed but it is definitely there. And there is a footpath sign on the South side of Dursley Road pointing directly at it!
